Our story starts in December of 2020. At this time, I started to lose eyesight in my left eye. At 27, this was a life-changing event, which changed my whole perception of my life and what I value the most. At this time, Rumyr and I were newly engaged, and planning our wedding. Our favorite thing to do was to go around to different shops and purchase different types of candles. Our favorite candles were alwasy musky and woodsy candles! As we continued to shop around, we realized that the majority of the scents on the market were not musky or woodsy, but rather flowery and fruity. We realized that the only way we could have a candle that we both enjoyed was to just make our own!

Throughout the pandemic, we started working on creating candle scents that we could love all year round, not just one special holiday candle that we had to buy a TON of for the rest of the year. :) This adventure, coupled with my waning eyesight, made me realize that our passion for candles could be something that we could share with others! We started this business in the hopes that our passion for candles would spread to others, and that someday, Rumyr and I could enjoy our passion full-time.

MB Homestead produces hand made, hand-poured, organic soy wax candles in Missouri. Our fragrances include many woodsy and musky scents, perfect for bringing back memories of the Homestead.

MB Homestead, the name chosen for our business, was a personal touch we wanted on our business. MB stands for Mojo and Bailey, our two dogs. Mojo and Bailey have been our rock throughout this pandemic, and with the struggles of losing part of my eyesight. I realized that our two best friends should be honored for the strength and comfort they brought our family. We decided to encapsulate Mojo and Bailey in our business name, so that they will live on through our business :) It is with this that MBHomestead was born.

We are excited to bring our love of candles to others through craftsmanship, design, and décor. Candles are our first start, and we hope to bring more high-qualify artesian products to MBHomestead as we continue to grow!!
